Sterlite may be allowed to operate tamil Nadu

Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy has said that Sterlite can only be allowed to operate for 4 months for oxygen production.

 

As the corona epidemic continues to spread, civilians in the northern states, including Delhi, have been severely affected.  The increase in infection has led to respiratory failure and many deaths.  In addition, the timely availability of oxygen for artificial respiration has become a problem.  At this point, the closed Stolite copper smelter in Thoothukudi said it was ready to produce oxygen.  The case was continued in the Supreme Court

In the midst of this case, the district administration sought the views of the people of Thoothukudi regarding the opening of the Stolite plant and the production of oxygen. At the time, the general public protested that the Stolite plant should not be opened for oxygen production or any other activity. The District Collector has also sent these comments in writing to the Government. With the government taking a decision, the Tamil Nadu government will seek the views of the political parties on the issue.

 An all-party meeting chaired by Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy began this morning to discuss Sterlite. Only authorized parties are invited to attend. According to the DMK, the organizing secretary RS Bharathi, Women's Secretary Kanimozhi, BJP state president L. Murugan, KD Raghavan, Marxist state secretary K. Balakrishnan, Soundarajan, Communist Secretary of State of India Mutharasan, Veerapandian Congress Thangapalu, Jayakumar, Deputy Secretary General of the State Radhakrishnan and others have participated on behalf of Bamaka.

 Also present were Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam, Ministers C. Vijayabaskar, Udayakumar and officials. Speaking at the meeting, the chief minister said it was not the intention of the government to open Sterlite. The government of Tamil Nadu is closed. Oxygen demand is also currently increasing due to increasing corona infection. Sterlite may only be allowed to operate for 4 months for oxygen production. He said oxygen production would be monitored by a committee comprising local representatives. At the same time, most parties in the all-party meeting suggested that Sterlite be allowed to produce oxygen.
